Dr. Ship Maitre was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama, and graduated from UMS-Wright Preparatory School in 1999. He earned his bachelor’s degree from The University of Alabama and his dental degree from The University of Alabama School of Dentistry. Dental organizations to which he belongs are the American Dental Association, Alabama Dental Association and Mobile Dental Society. Dr. Ship has made a career-long commitment to continuing his education in dentistry.
He has completed over 200 hours of hands-on training in the field of dental implant placement and grafting under the guidance of Dr. Michael McCracken and his comprehensive implant residency program. Dr. Ship also regularly attends hands-on workshops at SPEAR Education in Scottsdale, Arizona. There, he learns the latest in diagnostic, restorative and cosmetic procedures taught by some of the brightest minds in dentistry. Dr. Ship is also a member of the Senior Bowl Committee as well as other athletic booster organizations.
He is a member of Dauphin Way United Methodist Church, where he has sat on several church committees, taught Sunday school and served as an usher and greeter. He also performs donated dental services for women undergoing treatment at Home of Grace. When away from the office, Dr. Ship enjoys hunting, fishing and golfing. He and his wife, Julia, have a daughter, Mary Sisson, and two sons, Eli and John Luke.
